Article Script Docs

You should install Subrion Article Script before using it. After installation is completed please go to Admin Panel » Configuration. Here you can change configuration settings for Subrion Article Script. Below you can find descriptions for each option.

Configuration Settings

  • Guest Posting � if enabled allows guests to submit articles.
  • Article auto approval � automatically approves articles after submission.
  • Allow Flash � does not allow upload flash files by default.
  • Snippet Length � sets the maximum number of characters for snippet.
  • Max Title Length � sets the maximum number of characters for title.
  • Article Length (min,max) � sets the min and max number of characters of the article.
  • AutoSave every (minutes) � saves the article draft in set intervals.
  • Articles on Page � sets the number of articles published on one page.
  • Article Photos width � sets the maximum width of pictures uploaded to the article.
  • Article Photos height � sets the maximum height of pictures uploaded to the article.

Articles Management

After you have tuned up configurations you can start managing your content. Below is the instruction how to post articles via Admin Panel. Section Articles/Categories allows you to browse all categories and articles. And also add, delete, move and edit categories and articles. Section Submit Article allows you submit articles. Below is the description of each article field.

  • Title: type the title for your article.
  • Username: type the username of the user who submits the article.
  • Summary: short summary of an article, seen from the front-end as a snippet.
  • Body: type here the main body of your article.
  • Category: choose the category of the article.
  • Meta-keywords: type meta-keywords in this field.
  • Meta-description: type your meta-description in this field.
  • mod_rewrite URL: if enabled it allows to set your own meaning of URL for every article.
  • Upload Picture(s) For Your Article: here you can upload pictures for your article.

Article Fields Management

Section Article Fields � There are some fields set by default. Here you can add your own fields or delete existing. To add a new field click the button Create displayed as a green plus in right upper corner. To add new field you have to fill out next fields:

  • Name: unique identifier of the record. May consist only of small letters and digits.
  • English Title: title of the field displayed on the front-end.
  • English Field Annotation: description of the field. Also it is displayed on the front-end.
  • Show On Pages: to choose the pages a new field will be displayed tick off the radio button 'listings' and choose pages where your field will be displayed.
  • Required Field: in case you wish to have this field required you can use PHP validation code for the field below it.
  • Visible for admin only: this option allows to create fields visible for administrators only.
  • Searchable: if disabled this field will not be searchable.
  • Field type: here you can define type of the field.

Next button View all shows all fields. Button Listings FieldGroup allows to group fields on topic. To create new group click the button Create and fill out the given fields. To go back to Listings Fields click again the button Listings FieldGroup.
