Change wording of ROOT directory

Is it possible to change the wording of ROOT that appears when you select a category.

I would like to change it to "Please select a category below" I can't find it in the language file.

You searcing in wrong place. This is not a phrase, but category name. You can edit ROOT category to change the title. Here is the link for demo: demo

Thanks Sergey, I've done that, but ROOT keeps appearing in certain places, like when the cascading menu is first displayed.

Yes, I suppose it hard coded somewhere. You can search the 'ROOT' phrase in the packages/directory.

This is odd, even after a year, this still has not been changed or updated?

I see no reason to have a [Root] - this does not make sense as people that
do not have common since will be submitting to root, this is why we
have categories.

So here is the question:

Since I do not want people submitting to root...
how can I remove root, but still display all categories?

Because above it says root is a category, but yet it does
not appear in my admin list as a category so that I can change it.

so, rather waiting for another year for this to be updated, exactly
what file do I need to update in order to change root? and how
do I prevent access from submitting to root?

I think root should be removed, and just show directories and sub's.
and members will not be able to submit to main directories, only sub's...

ie:

Business (can not submit) (Main)
Affiliates (can submit) (Sub)
Opportunities (can submit) (Sub)
Income (can submit) (Sub)
etc...

That's quite easy to change that now. You need to make change in one file:

packages/directory/templates/common/listing_submit.tpl

Find this code:

hideRoot: false,

change this to the following:

hideRoot: true,

After that go to your tmp/ folder and delete your front_ folders. That should help!

What is the purpose of these tmp files that I have to keep deleting?

They stand for cache, they are generated once and saved as a file, it's faster than generating on the fly
