Number of Columns in Directory Package

I cannot change the number of columns in the Directory results. I thought this would be done in the Configuration>Directory>Numberof Columns. But when I change this it does not change the number of category columns. Where do I find this setting?

Additionally, when I turn off the category listings count indicator it still counts the listings and displays the number. Is this all the same problem?

In "Configuration" you change default number of columns for new categories. If you wish change number of columns for already created category, you need edit the category and there change the number.
