Hello, Is there a way to easily ad adsense publisher information and I'm just not seeing it? Or do I have to manually add it into my pages?

Unfortunately now you should insert the blocks manually. Would you please post a screenshot where you would like to have google adsense?

Just make an image and pointers where adsense should be. We are going to make a tool (similar to adsense) in admin panel to create adsense code and place adsense on the pages

What I would like is to put an Amazon books box on the home page, can I do that in the tpl file?

Yes, easily. Simple edit templates/Default/index.tpl file to change your home page.
