how can I resend the signup confirmation email?

Well, as the subject asks...

We've had a number of visitors start the signup process, but they never completed it - that is, they didn't click on the link in the confirmation email. We would like to resend the confirmation email as a "gentle reminder".

This is definitely something that should be included in the script.

Is there already a way to do this and I just don't see it? Is there a plugin for this?

Any ideas? I really need this.

There is one way to do this - but it's really less than perfect...

I took the email address of each unconfirmed account and entered it into the "forgot password" page. An unconfirmed account will receive an email with a new password. Trying to login with this password will result in a message stating "account is inactive". That of course makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is sending an new password to an inactive account. Instead, the original confirmation email should be sent.

This is a serious deficiency which I'm sure the Subrion team can take care of - hopefully soon.

we have implemented mass mailer, it will be available in the next release. Unfortunately, we have no such functionality in the latest release.

When is the next release due? If it's coming out soon then a dirty script won't be needed (although you might find that a lot of people would like it as a temp solution).
