Sub item ~ Display Truncation Question?

Sergey,

You kindly put my subitems (News Briefs) on home page like Articles. It's wonderful! Love it, and I found how to truncate it to display less of the content.

However, I would like to compact it a bit more as the articles are right down the page, by the time I have finished adding, therefore the answer so I thought was to truncate to between 250 and 300 'approx', depending on the nearest full stop.

Can this be done? I tried various smarty truncate codes but none achieved this.

It would just look better to see what is e.g:

Did you meditate long enough on this question re truncate? Any Ideas of how to do above?

I have some ideas, but now I worked with another feature and this not implemented yet.

Good Grief Sergey I didn't even notice! Bless You yes that seems to do the trick.

However, pesky quotes are giving me headache again...I will go find thread and post there.

Could you also tell me where I can reduce the number of characters even more? I can't remember where I saw it.
