Event Plug-in

I would love to be able to have an event plugin that would have categories that can be configured, added, so they can have seperate RSS feeds.

For example: The categories would be,
City Council Meetings,
School Board Meetings,
Church Events,
Public Works Meetings,
Zoning Board Meetings, etc.

Each Category could be placed in seperate Blocks.

I would love something like this for eSyndiCat too.

I have an events calendar that I have wanted to replace at my shorefun.com website. I wrote it a few years ago in coldfusion. It pretty basic, you can view the search page here. http://www.shorefun.com/EventSearch.cfm it’s also should allow for reoccurring dates. The monthly calendar view is niece but not necessary. Thanks Chuck

Vasily,

I can explain it but I honestly haven't seen anything like it.

Each Category would have it's own RSS feed.

Each Category would then be organized by Date and time.

Each Category would use a seperate window aka Blocks.

So you would actually have several (category) feeds populating the entire event calender which also would have a rss feed.

===> Now what would really kick ass would be the ability to take feeds, convert them into straight html (no backlinks) and "make it your own" then rss feed the information into the Categories and Calender. <=== this would make for incredible content!

The "make it your own" feature should have a toggle for people that want to keep the backlink. Some of the stuff I do, I wouldn't want to show my sources.

Just wanted to update this, I found this:

http://www.americantowns.com/tn/shelbyville/events

This is almost identical as I would like to mimic but it would have RSS fields for each category and section.

So you can make individual blocks based on section RSS Feeds (Government, church, or civic group) or category RSS Feeds (Civil Committee, Finance Committee, Baptist Church, Rotary Club).

Hope this helps with the plug-ins vision. There is nothing else out there like this and I feel it would increase Subrions appeal.

I would also like to allow anyone with an account to submit events.
I would like vistors to be able to search for upcoming events by date, category and venue.
