The mess when I try to install on localhost test

Hi...
New users here with install problems. I figured before I load this application up to my host, I'd install it on my local (XAMPP on Windows 7) test server.

Everything seems to have gone fine until at the end of the installation process the install window tells me I have:
Database Installation OK
Configuration file successfully saved, Change permissions etc.

Above this joyful message is not so nice.
Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in E:\xampp\htdocs\new-club\subrion\install\system.php on line 33

and...
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at E:\xampp\htdocs\new-club\subrion\install\system.php:33) in E:\xampp\htdocs\new-club\subrion\install\system.php on line 34

As much as I'd like to think I'm up to speed with website development, this is way over my head. If it's something simple and I can fix it, please help me.

Please let us know what XAMMP version you are using. What PHP version is it bundled with?

It seems something wrong with magic_quotes configuration and some function is obsolete

I hope this is sufficient because now I have even more serious problem trying to install it on Godaddy hosting. I can't get past the screen asking me for username (don't know what it is and install manual doesn't say) and script license (which I do have)

Basically my joy with this software at first look is starting to sour as my Host tells me I cannot have the functionality to carry out the database commands detailed in installation manual.

Do you have a refund policy by any chance?

Only Kidding about the refund. After following my own advice - "It will all happen if you just let it" I changed to Pacific Host (a recommended one) and discovered the script is not flawed at all, Godaddy impose some control in the name of security taht other hosts don't and until you install a template, it just doesn't work the way you expect it to!

So with the new year, the joy returns...
I'd like to see Subrion's installation manual re-written in some parts to make it easier to follow and I'd like to see some clearer instructions about creating the database but otherwise, I happy enough now I've been "under the hood" tinkering around to see what is happening.

Yes, it's a common problem for PHP 5.3 ( I'm sorry for that. Subrion 2.1 supports 5.3 version and you should not have any problems at all.
