Default Questions after installation

Hi,

now I've successful installed the article directory script at Vacation Article Directory .:Best Vacation Tip

But there are a lot of questions:

1. In the admin area, what is the difference between Categories on article menu and on subitems?

2. I've added categories, but a categories or a category menu will not displayed on the main page

3. I don't understand the meaning of subitems. Is it equal the resource box on other scripts?

4. How is it possible to integrate Google Adsense code like I've done on my other directory Free Article Directory | Submit Your Article

5. How is it possible to limit the amount of words/characters in summary?

6. If an author is posting an article how is it possible to activate the wisiwyg editor, to submit summary and so on, like at the admin area (edit article)?

7. I've activated also an account for an author. I've posted an article (no wisiwyg-editor) same any other author wil do and got this problem, e.g.
"I've" within an article get "I\'ve" after saving.

Best regards

Default Re: Questions after installation

Hi and welcome to our support forums,
I see you have made some changes to a default template. Let us know if you have any questions with modification of it

#1. Manage Categories really differs.. There are article categories and subitem categories. When you add articles categories you will be able to browse articles by these categories. Make sure your categories have active status. Also top level categories will be displayed on your index page with an icon next to them. Subitem categories are used to characterize subitems..
2. What categories did you add? If article categories - they will not be displayed until you add one article in it. SEO purposes. It's not good to have empty categories
3. Please take a look at dogbridge.com

dogs are subitems. It's like some sort of subprofiles for your account. Let's say you create a site about cars or dogs (cats, software, etc). Any of your accounts can have several cars, dogs, etc. So you can create some kind of subprofile (subitem) for them so when you write a story or an article you just attach the subitem to your article. Crosslinking from one page to other is a great think in SEO meanings
4. Now by modifying of your template. In our next version we will have special areas where you will be able to insert adsense from admin panel
5. For admin? I'm not sure.. Sergey will complete my answer
6. Now it's impossible. Visitors will not have wysiwyg.. For security reasons. May be we will make a lite version but now it's impossible. Visitors can simply use javascript instead of html and your site can be hacked. So we removed FCK for front end now.
7. Will be fixed if you provide us with your ftp access

Let me know if you have more questions

5. Unfortunately, it is impossible in version 1.0.04 to limit size of article/subitem, it's fulfilled in xooArticles v1.1.
6. We consider the feature with WYSIWYG editor for all users and implement it in the near future.
