Default Most positive support forum ever seen

Hi there,

I'm not a customer yet but I am looking at the directory script. (more on that later).

First congratulations on such a positive forum full of reliable support and feedback. I see so many bad ones where I don't bother to buy because of bad support.

I found you while trying to find a claim listing type of directory.

My requirements of the directory script are:-

1) Listings are not in subject categories as such because I want the categories to be of uk cities.

2) I want to add listings of custom business details in basic form and then allow claimed listings to fill in extra details once claimed by the owner if the domain email matches the web address.

Does this sound possible as I can't tell from the demos?

Can I tailor it for uk based style?

Do I have to keep a link back visible or just hidden?

many thanks, Andy

As a user you can do a lot of what you are requesting with Subrion. Some of it, like the Claim listings to place in additional information might require some additional coding but I am interested in something similar to what you are asking for as well.

Hi Andy,
welcome to our support forum and thank you for positive feedback.
Don't understand the fist question. You can create categories with any name and place listings there.
About listing claiming, David, you have outdated info, this plugin is already exists and all what you need (for version 1.1.00) is go to admin panel -> manage plugins and click 'install' button.

Sergey,

I know there is a claim listing plugin, But he wants Special Fields to activate when someone claims the listing.

For example:
Listings before someone claims has :
1) Title
2) URL
3) Description

Listings after someone claims has:

Title, URL, Description PLUS

4) Phone,
5) Address,
6) City,
7) Google Map etc..

Hi there, this is well explained and we both do want the same thing.

It's becoming very popular at the moment.

The plugin does not need to create the fields as we can do that.

We just want to add listings ourselves as admin in the first basic format and the extra fields just say "N/A" or "Claim Now to fill in these extra fields" on all the listings.

This way it encourages signups for listings we add ourselves.

Here is how the Claim Listing works.
  1. Somebody submit a listing on your site with URL like http://www.example.com
  2. If you want to claim listing, random text will be generated that you need insert on page http://www.example.com (don't worry, text inserts as meta tag or in the specific file so that page will not be littered up)
  3. then just click 'Verify' button and change any listing info.

When I say Activate fields, I meant it to look that way to the user that claims the listing.

For example:

They would be greyed out for the user, but once it is claim, they can be filled out.
